The 260-Day Calendar — Practice 05

The day-sign tuning.

The Maya counted a sacred round: thirteen numbers turning against twenty day names, a new sign every single day for 260 days. The oldest habit scaffold in the five traditions — and the Portal's practice 05. Your day, and the first full cycle from today, below.

Documented RecordThe 13×20 structure, the twenty day names, and the sign arithmetic are all documented Maya calendrics — not interpretation. The computation below is anchored to 13.0.0.0.0 (2012-12-21) = 4 Ahau and cross-checked against a live tzolkin calendar: 2026-09-18 = 5 Cauac, 2026-09-19 = 6 Ahau.

The sign is computed from your device's date — it is always the day you are actually in. Whatever the number, the practice is the same: notice the sign, let it be the day's frame, answer it at night.

The First Cycle — 260 Days From Today

The round, mapped

Every twenty days a new round begins; thirteen rounds complete the 260. The 42-day Portal spans roughly two rounds — which is why your own signs start repeating inside the program, and why that repetition is the point.

Text. The day names and their numeric sequence are the documented tzolkin; the readings beside them are the traditional Yucatec glosses, labeled as interpretation, not record.

Run it like the confessions: one sign a day, written down. When the same sign returns a twenty days later, you are meeting it again as a different person — that is the tuning. The 42 days end mid-cycle on purpose. The full round is the next instrument.

Thank you, and I love you.
