Reduce and hold.
A name, a date, a number — reduce it to a single digit. Then hold that digit as the focus of a few slow breaths. This is the Portal's practice 03, and it is exactly what it claims: a concentration device. The ancient canons love these numbers; the wiring is ours, and the page says so.
Documented RecordThe numbers it lands on. The dossier's finding: the genuinely shared digits across all five traditions are 3, 5, 7, 9 (plus 10, 12, 40, 60/360 at the level of structure). Reduce anything, and it lands on one of nine — four of which appear in every canon on the list.
Engineering InferenceThe practice. Digit reduction as a focus device is modern numerology, not an ancient technology. We run it as attention training, labeled, and we do not pretend otherwise.
Run one
The full chain is shown on purpose. The practice is not the answer — it is the walk down to it.
The mapping, stated
Names run on the standard Pythagorean letter values — the same table every Western numerology uses. Digits run as themselves: a date is just its digits, summed.
A=1 B=2 C=3 D=4
E=5 F=6 G=7 H=8 I=9
J=1 K=2 L=3 M=4 N=5
O=6 P=7 Q=8 R=9 S=1
T=2 U=3 V=4 W=5 X=6
Y=7 Z=8
Holding the number
How to run it, daily
Morning: reduce one thing — a name that matters, a date, a number you noticed yesterday. Read the chain slowly, once. Then the final digit, held as the focus of five slow breaths (at the 5.5 rate, if the track is playing). That is the whole practice. It trains the mind to go to a single point and stay — the same movement as coherence, aimed at a number instead of a feeling. Back to The Portal →
